Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for planning, marketing, organizing and directing programs related to a comprehensive, community-responsive, career based education for high school students enrolled in the career academy
- Collaboratively plans, implements, and documents Career Academy activities, strategies and professional learning activities
- Supervises and evaluates administrative, teaching and support staff, including performance evaluation participation
- Works to assess and update all career-pathway curricula
- Makes recommendations for long-term adjustment, changes, additions, and deletions in the ACCA program to meet changing job trends and needs
- Fosters ongoing collaboration among the four Career Academy partners; Athens-Technical College, Clarke County School District, University of Georgia and OneAthens. Markets the Career Academy programs to the public and prospective students while acting in a public relations capacity with parents, community members, and the media, to bring about improved understanding of the Career Academy’s goals and practices.
- Prepares and monitors annual budgets in collaboration with the Governance Board, Superintendent and Board of Education
Qualifications
- A masters degree required
- Eligible for valid Georgia Educator Certificate in the field of Educational Leadership
- Leadership experience and experience working with the business community is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in leading a group or organization in the creation and management of innovative programs
- Strong written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide fiscal responsibility for the Career Academy
- Knowledge of scheduling, advisement, career based learning and curriculum development is preferred
- Knowledge of workforce training/education
Desirable qualifications for the position would include experience managing charter school or program, having strong ties to Athens Clarke County Community, a demonstrated strong passion for education and workforce development, and an individual seen by others as a leader amongst leaders.

Qualifications
- A Bachelors or higher degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college or university and minimum four (4) years experience in a field related to business or finance, OR 10 or more years in the field of business or financial management.
- CPA or MBA preferred; Nonprofit experience a plus.
- Professional, personable, flexible and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Excel or Database proficiency a must. Quickbooks or other accounting software experience a plus.
- Experience in charter school or business management preferred. Specific experience with a charter school as its own LEA a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate accounting records for the school. Perform accounting processes and maintain the chart of accounts.
- Execute Procurement through Payment procedures on behalf of the school in accordance with applicable state and federal procurement laws, guidelines and school procedures.
- Serve as ex-officio member of the Finance Committee.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, Statement of Cash Flows), including budget to actual analysis including variance explanations.
- Prepare and maintain reporting timeline and execute reporting for all financial managerial and statutory reporting requirements.
- Manage cash processes, including contributions, receivables, grants, funding and deposits.
- Work with the Board Fundraising and Development Committee to provide financial information and support; Track grant receipts and expenses in support of designated grant funding from private and public sources.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and obtain appropriate reviews and approvals.
- Coordinate annual financial audits, and any other reviews by the GA Charter Schools commission, Federal, or other agencies.
- Maintain adequate insurance coverage ensuring compliance with any requirements.
- Monthly payroll processing with vendor, including payment of payroll provider and journal entries; Act as benefits coordinator including tracking of personal time off and coordination of annual benefits enrollment.
- Work with the Principal, Finance Committee, Treasure, and others to ensure adequate controls are in place (e.g. segregation of duties and documentation of control points); Develop administrative systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building safety and accessibility.
- Participate in pre-service training and on-going professional development as requested by Principal; Remain current in the use and management of requisite technology.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
